Hormonal Health – The Thyroid

What Role Does The Thyroid Play?

The thyroid gland is a gland shaped like a butterfly that is situated in the lower part of your neck. If your thyroid is functioning properly, you should not be able to feel it.

The main function of the thyroid gland is to regulate your body’s metabolism, which is responsible for breaking down food and converting it into energy. The thyroid controls the pace at which this process occurs.

The two main hormones your thyroid releases – thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3) – collectively make up thyroid hormone.

A sluggish metabolism can lead to the accumulation of excess food as fat in your body instead of converting it into energy, resulting in weight gain or difficulty losing weight. To find out more click the button below.

Client Testimonials

For the 1st time in a very long time I laughed and felt at ease ….. just what I needed ….. and was also wanting to say thank you to you! I’ve not felt this healthy or fit for years mentally and physically. Thank you

I’ve never really suffered with injuries in my sporting life, however picking up little niggles now & then, I suppose Father Time catches up with us all. However, incredible relief from an Achilles injury today and hopefully on the mend… I’ve been packing with ice but after expert consultation its heat treatment that will solve this one… many thanks to Claudia @ BioMed. Can I suggest that anyone who has an injury goes and see’s her – she really is an expert in her field of work.
