Claudia Carrillo

A registered Nurse and Biomedical Practitioner with over 25 years experience in the Health Sector. Claudia was born in the former East part of Germany, and began her career working in Cardiology and Internal Medicine Intensive Care, before travelling the world as a Nurse.

She worked in care homes in Northern Ireland, in the UK’s NHS West Midlands, and in intensive care in Belize. It was in the latter country that she joined the Faculty of St Luke’s University School of Medicine, developing a Community Medicine Programme for international students as well as working with primary care provision and prevention programmes.

Claudia’s love of nursing and helping her patients, led her further into natural approaches to healthcare, she turned her attention completely to this path over the course of the next 10 years. She has studied Acupuncture, various forms of Massage, Homotoxicology, Reiki, Bioregulatory Medicine and Aesthetic Procedures and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP).

Claudia’s Philosophy: The body is a series of systems which need to work in harmony for optimum health. Modern Medicine at present treats causes without keeping the body as a whole in mind. Her approach is a stand alone or in combination with modern medicine to maximise your health potential.

What to expect: Informal assessment and diagnostics to find out your background. Development of a personalised treatment plan based on your specific requirements and beliefs.

How does it bring /guide to natural harmony?

Using different treatments and complex homeopathic remedies to bring the body back into its health balance.

A Brief History

Born in 1973 in a town called Erfurt situated within the former East part of Germany, I received my school education with a very different view of the world then most people of my age. My professional education took place within two different health and governmental systems which enhanced my ability to look at my surrounded environment critically and objectively.

After five years of working in Cardiology and Internal Medicine Intensive Care, it was time for travelling and gaining professional experiences in various nursing fields in different countries around the globe. I have been fortunate to work for the NHS in the West Midlands, did agency nursing and care home nursing in Northern Ireland and also been nursing for intensive care requiring patients as well as patients in need of general medicine nursing care in Belize, Central America.

After participating as a volunteer for environmental improvement projects in Belize, I have been offered to become a faculty member of St. Luke’s University, School of Medicine, Belize. I had the responsibility to develop a community medicine program for international students on one side and to assist the development of primary care provision and prevention programs within the south east of the country Belize. My work load included for example; HIV testing and counseling, pesticide testing for banana and citrus fruit farmers and the development of a health education program for the primary school curriculum along side being a team member of a very busy primary care centre with emergency night cover.

On return to Europe, I had decided to take my professional development further to be able to reach out to patients and deliver the best possible nursing care and a natural approach to health service provision to the highest quality achievable. Therefore, I found the possibility of becoming a practitioner of Complementary Medicine very attractive. Having worked within the allopathic way of medicine, promoted preventative medicine in a developing country and my steadily growing interest and belief manifestation towards complementary medicine made the decision very easy.

Over the past decade I studied PRP, Aromatherapy, Remedial Massage, Baby & Pregnancy Massage, Homotoxicology, Reiki, Hopi Ear Candling, Bioregulatory Medicine and Aesthetic Procedures. My professional background has been proven to be very useful and led me to undertake a Western Acupuncture training course with the B.A.W.M.A. I have registered my own business providing high quality nursing care which includes all therapies already learned and able to practice as well as running a clinic in Arnside, and opening a second clinic in Lancaster at 3-1-5 Health Club, where clients can receive high quality treatments in a friendly and warm atmosphere.

I have created a concrete holistic approach of treating medical/care problems with the great assistance of my steadily growing knowledge and experiences.

Peter Hallam – Physical Therapist

I am a self-employed physical therapist specialising in deep tissue and myofascial techniques. I have also recently qualified as a Level 2 Gym Instructor and Level 2 Kettlebells, so as to help my clients even further with their rehabilitation.

Many Years Experience

From 1985 to the present, I have specialised in deep tissue and myofascial work,, with gentle and subtle mobilisation techniques added where necessary. My practice ranges from general massage clients, most of them long standing, through to helping people with their various structural issues that are causing pain. This have often led to teaching my clients helpful exercises in addition to the treatments they receive. Gentle application of any therapeutic technique is always the most effective, especially when working deeply into soft tissues. I began in this profession with the intention of discovering work I loved. Not only did I succeed, but over 35 years later I still love what I do. It has evolved and developed over this period.

Client Testimonials

I’ve never really suffered with injuries in my sporting life, however picking up little niggles now & then, I suppose Father Time catches up with us all. However, incredible relief from an Achilles injury today and hopefully on the mend… I’ve been packing with ice but after expert consultation its heat treatment that will solve this one… many thanks to Claudia @ BioMed. Can I suggest that anyone who has an injury goes and see’s her – she really is an expert in her field of work.

Bryn Neil

I have had 3 electro acupuncture appointments this wee, two treatments on my Achilles injury, also my shoulder, neck & back which Claudia treated and I feel that despite the pain especially from the muscle scraping on Tuesday that my injuries are so much better. My sleep deprivation is likely to be connected and I received brilliant advise from her regarding vitamin intake, rest and recovery whilst training is crucial to long and short term recovery. Non impact cardio suggested, heat treatment despite thinking that R.I.C.E. was doing it good when in fact it needed heat treatment. So anyone with any injury go and see her, she knows her stuff – very warm and friendly.

Claudia recommended trying needle fee electro acupuncture on my knees, due to me having knee issues for 2+ years, and after the treatment the pain in my knees has gone away completely! I highly recommend trying this if you have any sorts of knee pain!!
