I’ve never really suffered with injuries in my sporting life, however picking up little niggles now & then, I suppose Father Time catches up with us all. However, incredible relief from an Achilles injury today and hopefully on the mend… I’ve been packing with ice but after expert consultation its heat treatment that will solve this one… many thanks to Claudia @ BioMed. Can I suggest that anyone who has an injury goes and see’s her – she really is an expert in her field of work.
Sleep is one of the most crucial components of overall health, impacting everything from mental clarity and emotional stability to physical well-being. Quality sleep allows the body to repair and rejuvenate, supporting functions like immune response, metabolism, and memory consolidation. When we don’t get enough restful sleep, it can lead to a host of issues, including weakened immune defences, impaired concentration, and increased stress levels. Over time, chronic sleep deprivation is associated with higher risks of heart disease, diabetes, and depression, underscoring the importance of prioritising good sleep habits.
Beyond quantity, the quality of sleep matters immensely. Establishing a consistent sleep routine, creating a comfortable sleep environment, and limiting exposure to screens before bedtime can significantly improve sleep quality. These practices help optimise the body’s natural sleep-wake cycle, making it easier to fall asleep and stay asleep through the night.
